🚨Kenyan pervert and preacher Paul Mackenzie was convicted this week of murder in the deaths of 191 people, nearly all children, after ordering followers of his Good News International Church to starve themselves and their kids so they could “meet Jesus” before the world ended. More than 400 bodies have been recovered from the Shakahola Forest compound since 2023. His apocalyptic message didn’t emerge in isolation. Court testimony and reporting trace key elements of his doctrine to American evangelical and Pentecostal sources. Investigators and former members link his end-times radicalism to mid-20th-century American healer William Branham, whose “End-Time Message” materials circulated widely. Branham, a Pentecostal evangelist who helped launch the postwar healing revival, promoted isolation from secular institutions, rejection of modern medicine, and a rigid hierarchy of spiritual purity. Those ideas echoed in Mackenzie’s ban on schools, hospitals, and government IDs. A Black American pastor named Yeshaiah Alexander, described in testimony as a friend of Mackenzie, further shaped the group’s fatal turn. Witnesses said Alexander introduced the “Kibbutz” model of communal, secluded living around 2019. That concept helped justify the move into the remote forest, where guards enforced fasting and children were isolated first. Mackenzie also invited other foreign preachers, including white pastors, to mentor the flock. Though Mackenzie publicly denounced the U.S. as part of a satanic “New World Order,” his movement drew from the same American Pentecostal ecosystem of personal revelation, end-times urgency, and rejection of worldly systems that has long exported Christianity across Africa. The Kenyan court ruled the church operated as a structured doomsday cult with a “hierarchy of death.” The case shows how American evangelical networks, through traveling preachers, recorded sermons, and informal partnerships, can seed extreme interpretations abroad. As Mackenzie awaits sentencing, Shakahola raises questions about the unexamined export of radical American Christian ideas and the body count left in their wake

🧡💜 THE FINANCIAL REALITY OF LIVING ON DISABILITY IN CANADA. I think there are things people don't truly understand until disability changes their own life, and the financial side of it is one of them. When you become too sick or disabled to work, your bills don't suddenly become smaller. Your rent doesn't go down. Your car still needs fuel. Your prescriptions still need filling. You still need a roof over your head, food in the fridge, transportation to appointments, and money for the things that keep you alive and functioning. But your ability to earn an income can disappear almost overnight. And that is where the reality gets frightening. 📊 Here are some facts worth talking about: • Statistics Canada reported that 12.6% of Canadians with disabilities lived below Canada's official poverty line in 2024, compared with 8.4% of people without disabilities. That's more than 1.2 million people with disabilities living in poverty. • Disability often comes with additional expenses that other households may not have. Medications, mobility equipment, medical supplies, specialized transportation, and accessibility needs can all add to the monthly bills. • Statistics Canada's disability research found that, among people with disabilities living below the poverty line, 53% had at least one unmet need for an aid, device, prescription medication, or healthcare service because of the cost. Even among those living above the poverty line, 39% reported at least one unmet need due to cost. • Being unable to work doesn't mean being able to live without money. Disability benefits are meant to provide support, but the actual cost of surviving depends on where you live, your housing costs, your medical needs, and what other assistance you qualify for. Sources: Statistics Canada, Canadian Income Survey 2024 and the Canadian Survey on Disability. And then there is the part that statistics can't fully explain. Imagine trying to find a rental when you have limited income and a disability. Imagine explaining to a landlord that you cannot simply pick up extra shifts when the bills don't add up. Imagine needing medication that costs hundreds of dollars, or even more, every month, while trying to keep a roof over your head. Imagine being told to apply for assistance, only to discover that you don't qualify for one program because of your household circumstances, another because of the rules, or another because you fall into the cracks between systems. Where are people supposed to go? We talk about dignity, independence, accessibility, and helping people remain in their communities. But independence is awfully difficult when the financial support available doesn't match the cost of living, and the very disability that prevents you from working also creates expenses you cannot escape. People on disability aren't asking for a luxurious life. We're asking for the ability to live safely, keep a home, access the medications we need, and have a little breathing room when something goes wrong. A broken appliance, a rent increase, an unexpected prescription, or a vehicle repair can become a financial crisis when there is nothing left at the end of the month. 🧡💜 Disability should not mean a lifetime of financial fear. We need to talk more openly about what it actually costs to live with a disability, what people receive in support, and the people who are falling through the cracks. Because behind every statistic is a real person trying to get through another month, another medical appointment, another bill, and another day. And people deserve better than simply being expected to survive.

good they didn’t find anything wrong with it or anything in its autopsy ! just not a big eater I guess lol probably sick of eating dead whales wants some tater tots or something lol -The giant isopod is a deep sea crustacean, essentially a pill bug scaled up to the length of a forearm, and the largest documented specimens exceed two feet. Down there food arrives rarely, usually as a dead whale or large fish drifting down. So they are built for famine. When food appears they gorge until the body visibly swells, then run on those reserves for a very long time. Toba Aquarium in Japan received one in 2007 and labeled it No. 1. It fed normally for over a year. Then on January 2, 2009, it stopped. It never started again. Keepers offered food every six months, and photographers came to watch. Staff described it moving its mouth and front legs around the food as though eating, which they interpreted as the animal appeasing them. On February 14, 2014, keepers arrived with a Valentine's feeding and found it dead. Five years and 43 days without a single meal. A dissection found no cause. A memorial broadcast crashed the aquarium's server. And in 2020 another isopod at the same aquarium produced its first droppings in two years. They contained fish scales from a species the aquarium does not serve. 👇 #animalfacts #deepsea #natureisweird #didyouknow

thinking like 5-10 years down the road it would be tempting to migrate into full time work with the rec centres and leave disability I would probably make at least $3500 more working per month on the wage they are giving me and have a host of benefits including health (tempting) it would be a big step though but not even remotely there for awhile hahaha maybe when I am ready it will show itself I am getting pretty sick of my stipend and its limits hahaha but like I put in the work this past year to get this job its a weird feeling like last week I would never have thought I got the best janitor job in the city hahaha I dont even need to apply to the luxury condo now their pay is probably not as good hahaha

Russia labeled this gay journalist a terrorist extremist. He fled: Russia placed Vadim Vaganov on a wanted list. He worries that repression will further harm Russia's "remarkably brave" queer community.
