On this final day of the Walk for Peace, America does not simply say goodbye to a dog and a group of monks. America says goodbye to a feeling. For more than one hundred days, Aloka the Peace Dog walked beside Buddhist monks across thousands of miles through cold mornings, quiet highways, crowded streets, and open hearts. He didn’t speak. He didn’t ask for attention. Yet somehow, he touched millions. Children waved. Elders folded their hands in blessing. Strangers cried. Communities gathered. And everywhere Aloka went, people felt something they hadn’t felt in a long time calm, connection, and hope. This journey reminded us that peace is not loud. Love does not rush.Healing does not demand. It simply walks… one step at a time. Now, as Aloka prepares to leave America, hearts across this country feel the weight of this goodbye. But this is not an ending. It is a beginning living inside each of us. The monks showed us the Buddha’s timeless truth: suffering is real, impermanence touches everything, and compassion is the path forward. Aloka showed us how to live that truth quietly, faithfully, without conditions. If Aloka has touched your heart, please continue walking with him in spirit. Follow this page. Share his story. Carry peace into your homes, your streets, your communities. Because the walk does not end here. It continues every time you choose kindness.Every time you pause and breathe.Every time you meet pain with compassion. Thank you, America, for walking with Aloka.Thank you for opening your hearts.Thank you for believing in peace. From all of us monks, Aloka, and this growing global family we bow with deep gratitude. May you be well.May you be peaceful.May all beings everywhere be free from suffering
