• Our Prime Minister and Premiers have the most unrestricted powers of any elected leaders in the world. • One of the most dangerous unchecked powers of the PM and Premiers is the power to appoint essentially whomever they want to hundreds of law enforcement positions, including the top officers of the RCMP and every other police force, judges and all democratic good government watchdogs, which leads to the appointment of lapdogs and weak, unfair and ineffective enforcement of many key laws. • Our government transparency laws allow for excessive secrecy and cover-ups of waste and wrongdoing, and are weaker than the laws in more than 50 other countries, including the U.S. • Our government spending accountability laws allow for waste of your money, and are weaker than the laws in more than a dozen other countries, including the U.S. • Our government ethics laws are full of loopholes that allow politicians to secretly profit from their decisions, and are weaker than the laws in more than a dozen other countries, including the U.S. • Our anti-foreign interference laws allow for secret, unethical influence by agents of foreign governments and businesses, and are weaker than the laws in many other countries, including the U.S. • Our lobbying laws allow for secret, unethical lobbying and are weaker than the laws in more than a dozen other countries, including the U.S. • Our “third-party” lobby group spending laws allow for secret, undemocratic, unethical and undue influence by wealthy interests, and are weaker in some ways than U.S. laws. • Our political party leaders have more control over politicians in their party than the leaders in many other countries, including the U.S., which makes it easier for party leaders to ignore your and other voters’ concerns. • Our whistleblower protection laws are weaker than the laws in more than 60 other countries, including the U.S. • And our vote-counting system is less democratic than dozens of other countries as it often results in political parties electing more or fewer politicians than they should based on their actual level of support from voters.
BREAKING🚨🏳️🌈 A 35‑year‑old Black trans woman, Marlow Trottie, was found shot to death in Louisiana — on a street where she should have been safe, days before her 36th birthday. The way police are talking about her says everything. On Monday morning, June 8, Marlow’s body was discovered in the 2400 block of Cummins Street in Alexandria, Louisiana. She had been shot, and authorities quickly ruled her death a homicide. She would have turned 36 on July 1 instead of a birthday, her community is now organizing memorials and demanding answers. Local officials initially identified Marlow using male name and pronouns, even as friends and LGBTQ+ advocates made it clear she was a Black trans woman. In reports shared by people who knew her, she’s described as “the sweetest person,” someone who deserved to be respected in life and in death not erased by lazy or hostile reporting. Right now, police say they are investigating, but there’s been no public confirmation of a suspect, no clear motive, and no hate‑crime designation. Advocates note that Black trans women are already among the most targeted groups for fatal violence in the United States, and each time authorities refuse to name who someone really was, it sends a message that their lives are disposable. In community posts and vigils, people are sharing Marlow’s chosen name, her photos, and her story. They’re pushing local media to correct misgendering, calling on Alexandria officials to treat the case with urgency, and reminding the wider world that she is not just a statistic she is at least the 16th reported Black trans woman killed this year, in a climate where anti‑trans hate is constantly being stoked. If you’re reading this, say her name correctly: Marlow Trottie. Center her identity. Share her story. And remember that respect after death isn’t symbolic it’s a test of whether our systems see Black trans women as fully human at all. If you appreciate Gay News, it would mean the world if you followed my page. Thank you for being here.
Because the harmful rhetoric becomes louder every Pride Month, I think about the countless queer people who were told that if they just prayed harder, believed more deeply, surrendered more completely, or trusted God more fully, they could stop being queer. I think about the number of books that have been written. The conferences queer people have been forced to attend. The "ex-gay" ministries and conversion therapy programs that have been at the root of so much of the harm caused. For years, some of the loudest voices in Christianity have insisted that homosexuality was something from which a person needed to be rescued… suggesting that it was possible to somehow be “redeemed,” “delivered,” or “cured.” And it was a lie. It's still a lie. Sadly, the truth is that many people spent years trying. They prayed and fasted. Some even dated people they were never attracted to, or worse yet… married people they could never fully love. They learned how to pretend, how to hide. And they did it to survive. Yet none of the hiding of who they truly are brought about healing or transformation. If anything, it forced countless people to suffer in closets they had once escaped. In 2013, Exodus International, the largest ex-gay ministry in the world, closed its doors and publicly apologized for the damage it had caused over the years. Its president acknowledged what countless queer people had been saying all along… sexual orientation is not something that can simply be changed through prayer, faith, or abuse. (I'll share the link to the apology in the comments) Despite this, even today, there are people telling queer youth that they need to become someone else before they can be loved by God. And that’s bullshit. Here’s what you really need to hear: You do not need to be “redeemed” from being queer. You do not need to be “cured.” You do not need to be “fixed.” You do not need to become someone else. The very first chapter of the Bible tells us that God looked out over all that had been created and proclaimed that it was good. Very good, in fact. And if God has declared creation good, who are we to declare otherwise? If you are reading this and have been carrying the weight of shame because someone told you that God is incapable of loving you as you are, listen carefully… You are not a mistake. You are not broken. You have in no way failed because you are queer. You don’t have to wait until you change before you can be loved… You are loved now. And no ministry, church, preacher, politician, or internet influencer gets to take that truth away from you. And yes… there are countless survivors of conversion therapy and those considered former participants in ex-gay ministries. Not one of them is “ex-gay.” You do not need to be “ex” anything in order to be worthy of God’s love.

master MASON of the COVER UP -BREAKING: Trump's Kennedy Center takeover just got even UGLIER as the Washington National Opera is now suing to get its OWN $17 million endowment back. Donald Trump's Kennedy Center takeover continues to be an absolute DISASTER — and now it's facing a $17 million lawsuit from an opera company demanding its OWN MONEY back. The Washington National Opera severed its 50+ year relationship with the Kennedy Center in January, nearly a year after Trump's takeover triggered a mass exodus of artists, audiences, and donors. Now the opera says Kennedy Center officials are REFUSING to release more than $17 million that belongs to them — including endowment funds, donor gifts, and income collected specifically for the opera's benefit. This is money that donors gave to support opera in Washington. Money that the opera needs to pay its artists and keep operating. And the Kennedy Center is just holding onto it. "WNO reluctantly files this case to preserve its future and to protect its donors and artists," the opera's lawyers wrote in court papers, calling the funds "critical" to their operations. Remember how this all started: Kennedy Center officials claimed they parted ways with the opera — which had performed there since 1971 — due to a "financially challenging relationship." Apparently, part of that "challenge" involves the Kennedy Center holding onto $17 million that isn't theirs. This lawsuit lands amid TOTAL chaos at the Kennedy Center. A federal judge already ordered Trump's name removed from the building and temporarily blocked his plan to shut the institution down for two years of renovations. Trump — who installed himself as chairman of the board — is now appealing that ruling. So, let's recap Trump's Kennedy Center legacy so far: he drove out artists, audiences, and donors. He triggered the departure of a world-class opera company after 54 years. A federal judge stripped his name from the building. And now the institution is being sued for $17 million by an opera company trying to get its own donors' money back. This is what happens when Trump turns one of America's premier cultural institutions into a political trophy. The arts deserve better. Washington deserves better. The American people deserve better.
I do this all for you buddy —-On this day, 11 June 1943, Karl Gorath, a 20-year-old gay German nurse, was deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. He was first arrested for homosexuality after being denounced by a jealous lover in 1939, and given a prison sentence. After his release he was sent to the Neuengamme concentration camp, where he was made to wear a pink triangle denoting LGBT+ prisoners. Working in the camp's health department, with some comrades he attempted to smuggle food to Russian prisoners, who were being starved to death. Their plan was discovered by the Nazis, who then sentenced Gorath to transportation to Auschwitz as a criminal and political prisoner, to be denoted with a red triangle. Despite contracting dysentery, he managed to survive the war and was released in 1945. But within a few months he was arrested again by West German authorities, who had kept the homophobic Nazi laws intact. His case was overseen by the same judge, who greeted him with the words "You are already here again!" and gave him the maximum sentence of five years. His lawyer requested that his time served in the concentration camps be counted as part of this, but his request was denied. After his release, because of his convictions he was unable to get a job for a decade. And when the time came to draw his pension, his years interned in concentration camps were deducted from his allowance, as were his unemployment payments. He died in 2003, having never received compensation for his treatment, unlike some other Holocaust survivors. He told his story in a 2000 documentary, "Paragraph 175", named after the relevant section of the penal code. BREAKING🚨 ICE cut a deportation hype video to Ariana Grande’s “Bye” and posted it on the White House TikTok. Ariana saw it and fired back: “barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense… F**k ICE.” The clip went up earlier this week on an official White House account. It shows Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in tactical gear arresting people, putting them in handcuffs and loading them into vehicles. Over the top, they used Ariana’s 2024 track “Bye” as the soundtrack, with a caption bragging about Trump delivering “the most secure border in history.” It was a deportation reel dressed up as pop culture content. Ariana found the video, went straight into the comments and left a message that reporters quickly screenshotted. “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. F**k ICE,” she wrote. Her team has confirmed the quote is real, even though the comment later stopped showing publicly on the post. After the backlash, the audio on the TikTok was quietly muted. This is not happening in a vacuum. For over a year, the Trump administration has been pumping out slick social clips of ICE raids and charter flights full of deportees, often set to Top 40 songs they did not ask permission to use. Olivia Rodrigo called out Homeland Security last year for putting “all-american bitch” over a “self-deportation” video. Jess Glynne’s “Hold My Hand” was dropped into another deportation montage. Each time, the pattern is the same. Federal power on screen. Pop music on top. Human beings turned into content. Ariana’s line cuts through that spin. She is not just protecting her brand. She is putting a clear label on what the government is trying to normalize. Families being separated, people disappeared from their communities, entire flights of immigrants expelled from the country while officials celebrate with meme captions and stolen soundtracks. Artists have leverage here. Their songs are the emotional engine for a lot of this propaganda. When they refuse consent, when they say openly “do not use my music to sell cruelty,” it breaks the illusion that this is just another trending video. It exposes what is really on screen. If you appreciate my posts, it would mean the world if you followed my page. Thank you for b

BREAKING🚨 While the Epstein files were being quietly redacted inside the Situation Room, survivors’ names were exposed and powerful men stayed hidden. The man in those meetings is now Trump’s pick for attorney general. The survivors are saying absolutely not. Nineteen women who survived Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse have come forward together to oppose Todd Blanche’s nomination as Trump’s permanent attorney general. Their letter responds to a report that Blanche joined closed door White House meetings in the Situation Room about how to handle the political fallout from the Epstein files, at the exact moment survivors and members of Congress were demanding full transparency. Those meetings were not about opening new investigations. They were about managing a public relations crisis. According to the survivors, senior officials focused on “the release of Epstein files as a reputational concern” rather than using that mandate to chase leads, follow names and finally expose the full network of abusers and enablers. The women are specific about Blanche’s role. As acting attorney general, he oversaw the release process after Congress forced the administration to make Epstein related records public. Survivors say those releases were riddled with problems. Their private information was exposed in some documents. At the same time, names of alleged co conspirators and powerful associates stayed hidden behind thick black redactions or were withheld entirely. Blanche has repeatedly told the press and senators that he has engaged with survivors and taken their concerns seriously. The women flatly deny it. In their statement, they say he has not met with any of them, that their requests for meetings went nowhere and that he has “consistently minimized legitimate concerns” about the files. They call his nomination “a clear case of failing upward.” This is not just about paperwork. Survivors argue that the Justice Department found time to manage Ghislaine Maxwell’s interview, stage manage transcripts and announce the Epstein review is “over” while leaving victims to beg for basic answers. They point out that many have already reported crimes, multiple times, and are now being told to come forward again because the system did not act. Their demand to the Senate is blunt. They want an attorney general who will use the full power of the office to seek justice, protect future victims and finally bring the whole Epstein network into the light, instead of treating survivor privacy and public transparency as political problems to be managed.
