I'm getting real fed up with some of the comments I see about people struggling with homelessness, addiction, poverty, and mental health. Nobody wakes up as a little kid dreaming of sleeping on a sidewalk, fighting addiction, or wondering where their next meal is coming from. These are HUMAN BEINGS. Somebody's mother, father, son, daughter, brother, or sister. They deserve dignity and respect, not your judgment. I've lived that life. I've been at the bottom. So here's my message to the people who always have something negative to say: Either SHUT THE FUCK UP or SHOW UP and help make a difference! Come spend a morning on Pandora. Come serve a coffee. Come listen to somebody's story. Come see the human being behind the struggle before you open your mouth. It's easy to judge from the comfort of your home. It takes compassion, courage, and humanity to actually stand beside somebody who's struggling. WE DON'T NEED MORE JUDGMENT. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE WILLING TO GIVE A DAMN. And until you've walked a mile in somebody else's shoes, maybe think twice before looking down on them. Nobody is beneath you. We're all human. ALL MY RELATIONS
