hahaha always nice the US is way worse- Theo spends almost every day at home. He wakes up late, makes coffee, rolls some shag and turns on the television. He rarely goes outside and can spend hours sitting on the same sofa. He also seems to have a million reasons why he cannot work. His back hurts, the jobs are too far away, the hours are wrong, the pay is not worth it, or his boss would probably be terrible. Whatever the reason, he talks about it all the time and always has a new explanation ready. His house is full of cats. Cat hair covers the sofa, his clothes and the carpet. The table is filled with empty cups, cigarette papers, cans and old plates. The kitchen is even more chaotic. Half-eaten meals are left on the counter, dirty pans stay on the stove and yesterday’s food is still there when he starts making something new. Days can look exactly the same: television, coffee, shag, cats and food. He keeps saying he will clean the house tomorrow, but tomorrow looks a lot like today. 413,000 people in the Netherlands receive a general social-assistance benefit. Of course, their lives are all different, but there is also a well-known Dutch stereotype of the “uitkeringstrekker.”

I went 20 years without working I thought I  couldnt but I was literally starving and unhappy what made me turn around was gradually volunteering and then getting a job down the road and eventually I found I could work labour jobs in cleaning with my 'hands and wrists issues' as long as its not using dexterity like making coffee or food or whatever but I found cleaning to be ideal and armed with that I was worried with my nausea and throwing up daily I could not work at all but I realized I could in solitude which was a blessing but after that I realized even in my own field of janitorial i have to be exceptional to be hired in todays economy so got my provincial standard in custodial and security license so yeah I stand out cause I am already employed and also volunteering like honestly nobody like this has any work ethic nor do they have references and nor do they have a path really but we must help them -feel sorry for his cats that have to breathe that all in though-the only real alternatives are homelessness and death or Medical assistance in dying of the undesirables and we are totally not even there the US is almost but not canada or europe or australia
