"We're standing there with our eyes closed getting punched in the face." Photos from Prince Sultan Air Force Base in Saudi Arabia, Camp Buehring in Kuwait, and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait show buildings entirely bombed out, wildly expensive planes with their tails blown off, and rows of trailers completely destroyed. "These are not 'squirters' getting through," the service member told CBS the excuse that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave after the deadly March 1 attack on Port of Shuaiba in Kuwait that killed six U.S. troops. "We're not defending these bases. We're just watching them get destroyed." As if that wasn’t bad enough, a new CBO report just came out showing that we have suffered "equipment losses" worth up to $3.7 billion — including nearly 60 aircraft – and that the entire war has cost us $38 billion, with no end in sight. Trump and Pete Hegseth clearly made no preparations to defend US bases from Iran’s justified retaliations, and done nothing to improve the situation in the six months since the war began. They both need to be held accountable for this colossal waste of innocent life and taxpayer funds.
