The agent was sitting outside a sitting member of Congress’s town hall, a sign advertising Omar’s event was visible from the parking area, her vehicle had plates registered to another car, and she had initially told police she was security. After speaking with her supervisor, the agent left. Omar is now demanding to know why the agent was assigned to that location, when ICE learned about her town hall, why local police weren’t notified, and whether federal agents have been watching other events hosted by Minnesota elected officials. ICE has not explained why the agent was there or why she initially told police she was security.
