BREAKING🚨 A man locked inside ICE detention just held a bottle of his drinking water up to a video call. Small black WORM creatures were swimming in it. Carlitos Ricardo Parias, a Los Angeles TikTok creator known as Richard LA, exposed the truth this week from the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in the Mojave Desert, where he has been held for months. He poured the water into a plastic bottle himself to preserve it as evidence, then showed it to a relative on a video call. He was sitting watching TV on Tuesday night when another detainee told him about the critters. "We started looking around and we found them throughout: where we washed our hands and the showers," Parias said. He called them gusanitos. Little worms. L.A. Taco's Aisha Wallace-Palomares first reported the story. The water came from a pair of 10-gallon coolers that about 80 people drink from, cook with and make coffee from. "This is what they give us: contaminated water, water with larvae, water with little black worms, which is slowly killing each one of us who are detained here," Parias said in a statement translated from Spanish. "We need proper drinking water, better treatment." Two weeks ago, U.S. District Judge Sunshine S. Sykes ordered ICE and DHS to overhaul medical care, sanitation, food and 24-hour access to clean drinking water at Adelanto, in a class-action lawsuit over conditions there. The federal government has filed an emergency request to put that ruling on hold while it appeals. DHS denies there is any problem. A spokesperson said the facility uses city of Adelanto water, "the same water used by residents and businesses in the area," and that staff drink it too. The agency offered no explanation for what is in the bottle. It called Sykes "a Biden-appointed activist judge trying to smear our ICE law enforcement." At least five people have died at Adelanto since last year. Larry Aguilar, 27, detained there, said he was the one who spotted the creatures first. "I was like, 'Hey, look at this. This is what we're drinking.'" He said nothing has improved since the order, that some meals arrive raw, and that for two months detainees have been kept from the yard, sent instead into a walled courtyard with an open ceiling.
