This man is hellbent on destroying everything good in this world… The Washington Post has reported that Trump has gone ahead and chopped down dozens and dozens of beloved cherry and sycamore trees at the historic East Potomac Golf Links as part of his obsessive desire to leave his destructive mark on every part of the nation’s capital. Trump has released no final design, construction schedule or estimated cost for the “renovations” he has planned for the course. Environmentalists have filed a lawsuit to try to stop him, and the case is still ongoing. U.S. District Judge Ana C. Reyes said “she wanted advance notice before the government removed more than 10 trees or brought equipment larger than a sedan onto the property,” which Trump's team certainly did not give her. “A person familiar with the legal proceedings, who spoke on the condition of anonymity out of fear of retribution, said the government has not notified the plaintiffs or the court about the recent tree work,” reports the Washington Post. While this is fairly low stakes on the incredibly long list of Trump outrages and offenses, it is painfully symbolic of his presidency – nihilistic destruction and a shocking disregard for the rule of law. There truly is no hell hot enough for this man.
