BREAKING: CHECKMATE, TRUMP! Iran announces it’s DONE with Trump and won’t reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the end of Trump’s term! It’s so over… Well, congratulations, Mr. President. Not only did you start a war that you have no way to win, but now you have no way to end it either after signing a peace deal with Iran and then immediately reneging on it. Now the Iranians are saying they won’t negotiate or open the Strait until Trump is out of office. "Trump will not reach an agreement with us. We will go along with him until his term ends," said Majid Shakeri, advisor to Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf. "The path to victory is neither fighting nor a deal — it is managing the process of neither war nor peace, up to the point of victory. Publicly confirming negotiations with the U.S. is sheer folly. The winning approach is denial, ambiguity, and strategic patience." Iran's conditions are $300 billion in compensation, release of Iran’s financial assets frozen by the United States, and withdrawal of U.S. forces from the Middle East. All of this is completely unacceptable to Trump – but so is another two years of the Strait of Hormuz being closed. This comes on the same day as the Atlantic reports that US interceptor missile stocks are down to 20% or less; “even when troops see Iranian missiles approaching, they are forced to decide in a matter of seconds whether to expend a limited number of interceptors or hope for the best,” according to a defense official. “U.S. acceptance of Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz is an extraordinary outcome only made conceivable by an administration that squandered legitimacy, alienated allies, attempted regime change in a war it had not adequately prepared for and that is being forced to accept a catastrophic outcome without viable alternatives,” said an absolutely bewildered Phil Gordon, a former Obama and Biden national security official.
