This bird was recovered today because of the fast response of a friend who knew nothing about parrots called a friend who has a parrot for help. That parrot friend, my long time friend Dawn then called me this morning saying the bird appeared yesterday at the same branch today. I called around for help, but it had to be me this time. Im really happy I went as the bird was a horrible flyer in skill yet desperately wanted down. In the same light, the grace of the guy who found the bird was amazing, dawn amazing and our rescue network. The whole team that came out and listened and helped were mind blowing as always!!!! Thank you david and katherine, who were there for this grey when i failed to recover their grey earlier this year. I really hope this will help you heal. He flopped down to a lower branch that became reachable…. It took some goading to not climb up but climb down but he did it. He climbed to my hand, tentatively put his foot out, my hand shaking, but he placed it in my palm and i then wrapped his foot in a toe hold. He did not fight or cry. And he was then placed in a carrier. He is being held by Flight Club Foundations rescue network currently as we do more evaluation and try to find his owner. The bird is clearly fully flighted recent grooming. In great physical shape. We will check for a Chip tonight. I have fully documented the physical condition of the bird to ask any potential people saying the bird is theirs specific questions. He was very thirsty!!!
