The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures…. ICE agents don’t get to kidnap someone, from a coffee shop parking lot, without reasonable suspicion or probable cause. The Fifth Amendment guarantees due process…. Holding someone against their will while refusing to tell them why, or denying them access to contact anyone, is a constitutional violation

The White House Correspondents Association Dinner, the singularly dumbest event ever and one that should have been cancelled, was a disgrace tonight but, damn if it didn’t have its moments. Granted, very few but, c’mon, who didn’t love freaking Wolf Blitzer going gangsta and reciting, blow by blow, Trump’s corruption, lying, and zillion ties to Jeffrey Epstein, as he handed out the awards for outstanding journalism, all of which exposed Trump’s grotesque unfitness for office. I get old Wolf was just reading what was on the prompter but still, it was gold. As Wolf ticked off the reasons for an award to the Wall Street Journal for uncovering Trump’s Epstein connections, and the bogus $20B lawsuit Trump filed, and the regime leaking the reporters’ personal information and banning them from Air Force One, Trump sits there sneering and shrugging. At one point, spokesliar Karoline Leavitt, trying to soothe the boss, pats him on the back. Eeeeeewww!!! Another award to the Journal goes for investigative reporting for detailing the birthday card Trump sent to Epstein. Trump’s drawing to Epstein, complete with the famous pubic hair signature, is shown on the monitor in the ballroom. LOLOLOL Because he doesn’t know what else to do, Trump, like a dork, shakes hands with all the winners who exposed his degeneracy and depravity as they come to the stage to accept their awards. HAHAHAHAHA it’s awesome. And, just like that, the fun and games are over, and Trump waddles up to the mic and (1) you immediately get why he only wants to talk to MAGA media and his sheep weirdo followers because he bombs in front of any audience with functioning brain cells and (2) it becomes apparent in about 5 seconds why this event is totally preposterous. Where to begin with the inanities, the cruelties, and the nonsense? Slurring even more and appearing even more out of it than usual, he calls the reporters “the largest group of Trump derangement syndrome people ever put together at one time,” and babbles about the long-ago correspondents’ dinner where “Barack Hussein Obama” called him out and says that at that dinner “supermodel Brooklyn Decker” was sitting at the next table and he’s “watched the tape thousands of times.” Toootally normal behavior. He calls Jake Tapper “Fake Tapper” (nobody laughs), insults Rosie O’Donnell (ditto), warns that no one should wrestle Steve Cheung (no sentient being on earth wants to get remotely that close to that troglodyte), lies about how Iran is “begging” to make a deal, trashes Bruce Springsteen, whines about Joe Biden, and calls Illinois Governor JB Pritzker a “fat pig.” You know, all reeeeeally presidential stuff. Trump, who, at one point, it should be noted, nodded off on the dais, whines that the evening is all about “fake news” (yawn) and that reporters call him “every 3.7 seconds.” He says Kaitlin Collins looks like Dylan Mulvany and that she should smile more, that Ilhan Omar is in love with her brother and needs to “get the hell out of the country,” and that Chuck Schumer “turned Palestinian” and wanted to join tonight but “didn’t want to violate Sharia law.” It’s a real laugh riot. He slurs that since he’s already won the presidency 3 times – noting, tediously, that one of them was “rigged” – he’s “pleased to announce” his intention to run for a fourth term. At that point he puts on a Trump 28 hat which he wears for the rest of his speech. We’re getting used to it, I guess, but, yet again, we’re profoundly embarrassed to be Americans. And, alas, despite the amazing and brave work many of them do (see the WSJ awards above) we are embarrassed for our press. They shouldn’t have been there in the first place, and, since they put themselves in the putrid situation, there were at least a dozen times they should have all walked the hell out. At one point during his word vomit, Trump bleated that “they thought about going with a professional clown for entertainment. But Adam Shifty Schiff was not available.” California Senator Schiff immediately replied: “Looks like they found the clown after all.” Yup. And, unfortunately, he made clowns of all the journalists who attended. Seriously, what were they thinking? Everything is so far off the rails that the only real question of the day is whether his asinine appearance at the dinner tonight was more or less ridiculous that his earlier appearance in the Oval, called ostensibly to make an announcement about the US’s nuclear innovation. Yeah, sure. Just like they call when he watches TV “executive time,” and when he plays with his Sharpie “signing time,” err, “Trump signs executive order,” they should call whenever he makes an announcement “buddy time” because it’s the same tired scene every blooming day, where Trump is planted at his desk and there are a bunch of pasty white men behind him who nod and agree with everything he says. At that appearance, he said that, after noting that “we’re locked and loaded and ready to go” on Iran but that “we’re talking to them” and “maybe they will cry uncle or maybe they’ll just give up or maybe they’ll go into a cave and hide” (in case you were wondering if he didn’t have all his bases covered on Iran) that “if he wasn’t president “there would be no Israel and there probably wouldn’t be a Middle East.” I’m feeling woozy. No shit, shouldn’t this be a major freaking story??? I mean, dude is nuts!!! There is such a constant tsunami of bullshit coming down the pike that this will not be covered by the mainstream media but JFC consider some of the other inanities from this afternoon’s train wreck of an appearance in the tarted-up Oval: Reporter: “You said Russia and China aren't helping Iran. But Hegseth says they're 'enabling.' What's the difference?” Trump: “I don't know that they're 'enabling.' I will tell you that President Xi said he will not partake. And President Putin said the same thing. I trust them.” Holy shit!!!! He trusts them! Last week he accused Xi of rigging the 2020 election. Wheeeee!!! Reporter: “There's a parasite that is giving people in the US explosive diarrhea. When is it gonna be safe to eat lettuce again?” President Alfred E Newman: “I don't know. I haven't thought about it.” Awesome! He rants and raves about how awful windmills are but that we can’t bury them because they’ll “poison the ground.” He says he knows a lot about Venezuela because he owned the Miss Universe Pageant and “Miss Venezuela always did very well in that pageant.” Damn, who needs the CIA then? I desperately wish I was making this shit up. Extra Credit: In their ongoing effort to make America sicker, poorer, and dumber, a new milestone today for the Trump regime: the New York Times reports that the US has recorded more cases of measles this year “than in any other year since the virus was declared eliminated in 2000.” The story notes that this Fall, “a panel of international experts will meet to determine whether the United States has lost its elimination status, which has long been viewed as one of the country’s crowning public health achievements.” USA! USA! Thanks RFK Jr! As The New Republic notes, to the highest incidence of measles in decades, you can add increased salmonella risk, the flesh-eating parasite infesting cattle, and the explosive diarrhea outbreak. Quite the legacy. Thanks so much for reading and stay safe and healthy everyone!!! Remember we are not the crazy ones!!!
