A powerful coalition of more than 120 judges, law professors, and attorneys – led by retired Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Peggy Quince – has filed a blistering ethics complaint against Bondi with the Florida Bar, demanding she be investigated and potentially disbarred. This is their second attempt. The first, while she was still in office, was rejected. Now that Trump has fired her, the complaint is back, and it is devastating. The filing zeroes in on Bondi’s disastrous handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, accusing her of bungling the releases so badly that victims’ names, birth dates, and even nude photos were exposed. Lawyers for the survivors called one dump “the single most egregious violation of victim privacy in one day in United States history.” The complaint also charges that Bondi pressured DOJ lawyers to compromise their ethics or risk losing their jobs, and greenlit politically motivated prosecutions against Trump’s enemies. “No one lawyer is above the law,” said Chief Justice Quince. For Bondi, loyalty to Trump clearly mattered more than integrity or basic professionalism. Her tenure was defined by weaponization, cover-ups, and ethical corners being cut to please the boss. The fact that over 120 legal professionals including a former chief justice are calling for her disbarment should tell you everything you need to know about how badly she abused her power. Of all the horrors of the second Trump administration, ICE terrorism on the streets of great American cities has got to be the worst. Bondi was in charge of it all. It goes without saying that no one should be above the law. The rule of law still matters, regardless of Trump’s promises of protection.
