So it was very easy for 73-year-old artist Alan Cottrill to pitch the Trump team on a statue of the president to be installed at the Trump National Doral golf course. “They loved the idea, of course. It’s like pitching ice water to a man dying of thirst. It was not a hard sell.” Cottrill made the statue out of bronze then got the Trump team to pay him another $60,000 to wrap it in gold leaf. All in all, he managed to wrangle nearly half a million dollars out of Trump and the $PATRIOT memecoin team, who paid him big bucks to “license” the statue’s image. But Trump, a man who spends his days lying to himself and everyone else, went to Truth Social this morning to brag that it was “The Real Deal - GOLD - At Doral in Miami. Put there by great American Patriots!!!” It’s not gold, and he put it there himself. It is so unbelievably pathetic to see the President of the United States lying to himself and the nation in order to make him feel the prestige and respect that he desires so desperately but can never get.
