The Grindr Serial Killer Between June 2014 and September 2015, 40 yr old Stephen Port raped and murdered at least 4 young gay men he'd met on Grindr and lured to his apartment. Stephen's victims, Anthony Walgate (23) Gabriel Kovari (22) Daniel Whitworth (21) and Jack Taylor (25) were drugged with large amounts of GHB, Crystal meth, Viagra, etc. then raped. He had a thing for raping unconscious men. With his first victim, Anthony, Stephen actually left the body and called emergency services to report his death. With the other 3 victims, he dumped them in the same church yard. At least 2 of the victims were found in the exact same spot, posed the exact same way. Stephen tried to cover his tracks by leaving a Suicide note by Daniel's body, which stated he had killed himself out of guilt because he had murdered Gabriel. A woman who walks her dog by the church every morning actually found 2 of the bodies. Stephen was finally caught when he was identified walking with the last victim on CCTV. It's suspected he raped many more, and may be responsible for more deaths. Stephen has been convicted of the rape and murders of these 4 victims, 3 additional men he drugged and raped, 10 counts of drugging people with the intent of raping them, and 4 assault counts. A total of 11 known victims. Stephen is now serving life. As of December, 2017, 17 police officers were being investigated for dropping the ball in this case. In 2022 9 police officers faced a public inquiry and were found to be guilty of gross misconduct. Many said nobody cared because the victims were gay men. Though the tips were definitely pouring in, Police failed to follow leads, initially believing the deaths were all accidental. The inquiry stated at least 3 of these young men would have been alive today if it had not been for police failings
