Evicted roommate after months of being dodgy with rent and he left us a final gift Lived with this guy a little over 2 years. He smelled awful, like to the point where I could smell he left his room before seeing, showered 1-2 times every couple of months, I could tell when he showered because his white bath towel would become increasingly yellow with every use. Didn’t mind too much at first cause he paid rent and kept to himself, the towel was a space away from mine, and he didn’t leave anything else of his out anywhere. Biggest issue was dishes would go missing from time to time. After he “quit” the job he had with my other roommate is when things started going downhill. He started telling us “Zelle just isn’t going though” (obvious bullshit but we were too polite to call it out) and about how the places he applied for weren’t getting back to him (he would only apply to one job and not do anything else if he didn’t get a response) when he did get a job they “just stopped scheduling” him (we asked a dude at the McDonald’s he worked at for a couple weeks about him, he just stopped showing up). I have the misfortune of sharing the bathroom with him, and my room was a lot closer to his, but that wouldn’t have made a difference since my other roommates could here his obnoxiously loud masturbation from the other side of the house, even with the 4 walls between them. After a while it became obvious he hasn’t had a job for a long time and has just been taking out loans any time he needed more money. The final straw was him shoplifting from our other roommates job, the one he used to work with her at. Tbh, I don’t care if you’re shoplifting, but he was stupid enough to do it at a place he used to work at with his roommate, and all the upper management knew that. She got pulled into her bosses office and was informed what he was caught doing, and how it could result in her termination. Luckily she got out of any trouble after explaining the situation, but at that point it was too much, it was already way past pushing it that he couldn’t keep his own job, but now he had to put ours at risk too? We gave him a month. I wasn’t home during his last couple hours here, but he obviously didn’t pack anything at all. Apparently he was giving my roommates a little sob story about how they’re kicking him out today??? How could they??? After we had been reminding him on a weekly basis, our on the first. I got a video call after work about the state of the room and it was atrocious. I couldn’t believe I’ve been living in this house, with all that, for 2 years. The pictures I took here were after I got home, so they had already been cleaning for 2 hours at that point. Remember how I said the only issue was disses going missing? Turns out he had a moldy dishes drawer, filled with all our dishes. There was actually a set of dishes we threw out recently. Only one piece we couldn’t find. Well we found the entire set in his room, meaning that one piece was already in there, and the rest he dug up from the trash. There were a colony of beetles embedded in the carpet. It’s been 2 weeks and I’m still seeing the fuckers around the house. I know this is long but I’ve been holding back from traumadumping on 7-eleven employees. Every pizza box in that picture still has slices from who know how long ago in them. That trash bag in the center was actually just a hamper, with rotting food in it, with a trash bag fitted over it, WITH MORE TRASH PILED ON TOP. There were just ribs. Openly sitting. On his dusty ass desk. I picked up his mousepad, and found out the surface of the desk was glass. I thought it was just a black desk before that. I was the only one strong enough to brave the knee-high mountain of piss bottles. Last pic was after 6-7 hours of cleaning between the 3 of us. There are so many disgusting little details to give but I’d just go on forever. TLDR: kicked our kinda gross roommate out for not keeping a job and nearly getting our other roommate fired by shoplifting at her job. Acted like it was terribly cruel of us to hold him to his eviction after repeatedly telling him he is to be out by the first, and then left us with this shitshow.
