Chinese airline China Eastern Airlines is about to start the worlds most grueling direct flight. It is a (bad) record-smashing journey that will keep passengers in the same seat for more than a full day and a night. The Boeing 777-300ER flight will depart Shanghai destined for Buenos Aires with a 2-hour technical stop in Auckland. The service maintains the same flight number and aircraft, meaning passengers are unlikely to disembark during the short New Zealand stopover. The route will operate twice weekly, clocking in at about 25 hours, 30 minutes eastbound an 29 hours westbound. The flight looks like the longest direct commercial service ever attempted (as opposed to non-stop) China Eastern Airlines ordered 20 Boeing 777-300ERs and received its first 777-300ER aircraft on September 26, 2014 The flight number is MU745. You can start tracking it on December 4, 2025 https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/mu745
