BREAKING: Shocking horror stories emerge out of MAGA’s so-called “Alligator Alcatraz” concentration camp with accusations of guards groping and assaulting prisoners. Everyone involved with this detention facility needs to be prosecuted immediately… According to a recorded phone call of a detainee obtained by Status Coup, the individual witnessed firsthand as guards groped and assaulted his tent-mates. Not only that, but conditions are so bad that he fears other detainees may soon start dying in custody. It’s worth noting that such deaths may have already occurred and been ignored or covered up given the rampant dishonesty on display by not only the Trump White House but by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. “This has to come out one way or another because they’re going to kill us here, little by little,” said the man, who is a Cuban national. “No one pays attention to us. I’ve been here for thirty days, seeing injustice and mistreatment—it doesn’t stop. They abuse us in every way, with the food, in the bathroom, everything, everything.” He stated that he feels “violated” by the “inexperienced” camp guards who are “racist and power hungry.” He said that guards brutally step on the hands of detainees and kick them while handcuffed. “They touch us all—our groins, our asses to see if we’ve brought cookies, a little piece of fries, and they take it,” he said. “They search us, they touch us a lot, they search and touch our whole bodies in a weird way. We feel violated. I feel violated.” As must always be mentioned when discussing these Republican atrocities, this cruelty does nothing to make Americans safer or uphold “law and order.” This is about pandering to the frothing racists and xenophobes that make up the MAGA base. Reports of violations at the camp, which has also earned the nickname “Alligator Auschwitz,” have been multiplying for some time now. Another Cuban national told El País that he and other detainees went on a hunger strike for roughly two weeks to protest their inhumane conditions. Just this week, a former guard at the camp admitted to NBC News that the detainment center is akin to an “oversized kennel.” Each tent contains eight cages and each cage is jammed full with as many as 38 people. “It’s inhumane the way that they’re keeping their residents,” the guard, identified only as “Lindsey,” said. “They have no sunlight. There’s no clock in there. They don’t even know what time of the day it is,” she said. “They have no access to showers. They shower every other day or every four days. ... The bathrooms are backed up because you got so many people using them.” “Not everybody there is a criminal,” Lindsey explained. “These people are still human. They pulled them from their livelihood. They’re scared.” Fascism has come to America and future generations will judge you based on what you do and say in this moment. The time to speak out is now.
