The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures…. ICE agents don’t get to kidnap someone, from a coffee shop parking lot, without reasonable suspicion or probable cause. The Fifth Amendment guarantees due process…. Holding someone against their will while refusing to tell them why, or denying them access to contact anyone, is a constitutional violation

Happy #FennelFriday! We have a lot of new supporters who don’t “know” our permanent residents, so allow us to introduce T’challa, a bobcat with two brain cells and mind control powers. You love T’challa. T’challa arrived in our care as a newborn in 2020 after being found in a driveway with injuries that looked like they were caused by a raptor’s talons. We named that year’s bobcats after superheroes. 🦸 It became apparent quickly that this boy ain’t right. He took much longer than normal to figure out how to do even simple things, like eating solid food. He had no instincts to hunt or to fear humans. He spent most of his time rolling over on his back with his tongue out. We couldn’t release a bobcat with the mental capacity of a house plant into the wild, and the State of Tennessee denied our request to transfer him to an accredited sanctuary, so we moved some pieces and got state and federal licensing to make him part of our education program (which, until then, only included reptiles). T’challa loves fennel. It is his favorite toy and his best friend. We buy him new fennel weekly. He never gets bored with it. There have been many theories about why he loves fennel, and simplest and most likely explanation is that he just really loves the smell. We love this silly goofball to pieces and are thankful for our supporters who make it possible for him to have a happy life in our care. You. Love. T’challa.
