There is no greater shame within a family than finding out a relative has a doctorate and you do not understand the Phdee system enough to explain it to others (simply an internet thing rather than an immense lifetime achievement hmmm maybe their doctorate is stolen, or they belong to a cult lulz) ...the shame, let a lone they are gay hahaha that is so 1990's -PhD's lulz !!!
